Parent Comments & Ratings

Play Area: Treehouse Adventure Play Area

Yorktown Center’s 40-foot tall tree overlooks its kid-friendly playhouses and the Yorktown Express train track. Kids can scramble, climb, slide and play during center hours. The play area is small and completely fenced-in. It is located on the lower level near Carson Pirie Scott.

A ride on the Yorktown Express has been a tradition for more than 30 years. Each train car is completely enclosed so toddlers can ride by themselves. Tickets are available for purchase at the Information Center. Train rides are $1.00 each, or 6 rides for $5.00. A coupon for the train can be found here: http://www.yorktowncenter.com/attractions.aspx

Family Restrooms

There are no family restrooms. However, there is a "mother's room" in the food court that contains a changing table, toilet and sink. (There is no seating area for nursing or feeding there.) But Von Mauer has a large women's lounge with a designated nursing/feeding area and spacious restrooms.

Stroller Rental

Strollers are available at the Information Center near the Treehouse Adventure Play Area and Carson Pirie Scott. They ask for a driver's license, which will be returned when you are finished with the stroller.

Lockers

Lockers are located at Mall Entrance 2, between Carson Pirie Scott and Famous Dave's.

Restaurants

Restaurants with kids menus include Brio Tuscan Grille, Buca di Beppo, Claim Jumper, Egg Harbor Cafe, Famous Dave's, Arby's, Burger King, Panda Express, Subway and Taco Bell. Sbarro doesn't have a designated kids menu but serves pizza, pasta and veggies. Ed Debevic's also does not have a kids menu but serves hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries, veggies, mashed potatoes, milk and other kid-friendly items. There are some specialty food locations, such as Cinnabon and Dairy Queen. A complete food list can be found here.
