Serpent Safari is a reptile zoo within Gurnee Mills. It houses rare and giant reptiles, a Nile crocodile, a rare albino alligator, a 350-pound Anaconda and more. Take a guided safari tour; photo opportunities with boas and pythons too. $6.95 for adults, $4.95 for children (3-12 years), tickets valid all day
Rink Side Sports is a family entertainment center.
- It houses a game room with prize ticket redemption games for ages 2 years to adults. The cost of games ranges from 2 tokens per play to 8 tokens per play. Each token is 25 cents.
- It also houses White Shark Golf, a glow-in-the-dark, 18-hole miniature golf course, which costs $5 per person.
- Another feature is their ice rink. Public skating times are available. They have toddler-size skates (size 6 and up)! Skate rental is $4. The admission fee is $6 for adult non-members, $5 for adult members, $5 for non-member kids under 12 and military personnel with ID, $4 for member kids under 12, and free for kids 3 and under. (Helmets are available for $5.) Parent and tot skating lessons are also available for kids 2-5 years old. Call 847-856-1064 x302 for class schedule and public skating times.
Restaurants
Restaurants with kids menus include Arby's, McDonald's, Rainforest Cafe, Ruby Tuesday, Subway, Taco Bell and Villa Pizza. Sbarro doesn't have a dedicated kids menu but serves pizza, pasta and veggies. There are several specialty food locations, such as Jamba Juice and Cinnamonster. Go here and search under restaurants or specialty food for a complete listing.
Kids Special: Every Wednesday night (after 5 p.m.), kids eat for $1.99 off the kids menu at Rainforest Cafe.
